The Harker School’s Student-Run Economics Organization
Oeconomia is a student-run organization at The Harker School in San Jose, California, established in 2018. We are the extracurricular arm of Harker economics that hosts speaker events, manages competitions, and publishes student-led research. We are a proud founding member of the YEI.
Harker Oeconomia seeks to communicate the importance of economics in the modern world, giving students opportunities to explore the field, meet professionals, submit written work, and advance their interest. Equilibrium, Harker’s Economic Research Magazine, operates under the purview of Oeconomia.

Every semester, Oeconomia invites select speakers from across the nation to present topics that are engaging and thought-provoking. Such speakers have included post-doctoral researchers, investment analysts, and CFOs.
If you are a speaker who wishes to present your work at one of our events, please email us at oeconomia@students.harker.org.
The Harker School’s economic research journal, Equilibrium, is written, designed, and compiled entirely by students. Published annually, the magazine is the culmination of months of hard work by dedicated student writers and editors.
Oeconomia helps students register and prepare for four pre-collegiate economics competitions: the National Economics Challenge, the Harvard Pre-Collegiate Economics Challenge, the Personal Finance Challenge, and the Harvard International Economics Essay Competition.
